Perhaps some of my (very few) followers have noticed that I’ve been a little quiet on the blogging sphere of late. Please everyone, feel free to exhale your held breath and worry not about my absence. I’m on holidays, you see, which means that books and the beach have become my new internet.
I’m spending the next few days at Surfers Paradise in Queensland, if you’re interested. For all its tacky, bogan-y nature it’s one of my favourite places in the world. Why? Well, I could go on about the spectular beaches, wonderful weather or holiday atmosphere, but really, it’s the people watching which sets it apart.
Here’s an example I witnessed today:
Two friends are standing at an ATM, both are young, beautiful and wearing customary Queenslander attire, bikini tops over short shorts.
Girl one: Oh my Gawd, you look so freaking hot today
Girl two: Shut up, I so do not.
Girl one: You DO!
Girl two: No way, I’m ugly as (short pause) can you take my picture?
Well, that sums it up. No doubt in the near future I’m going to get some horrific, embarrassing sunburn, I will post pics!!
